| Iron Man Pigfish | PIGFISH : THE REVEREND JAMES Pigfish, Birmingham’s saviours of all things punk - pop see their killer mini album ‘The Reverend James’ re-issued on the 2nd of April 2001. Originally released last year by the now defunct Delta Loop records, ‘The Reverend James’ picked up loads of great reviews in the music press and fanzines, including 4/5 in Kerrang and 8/10 in Metal Hammer together with more airplay than it’s fair to expect for a new band. This combined with the relentless touring of their killer live set helped win Pigfish a permanent place in the psyche of anyone who ever loved perfect noisy, hook-laden attitude. Harking back to the glory days of the late seventies when Irish label Good Vibrations rubber stamped the perfect pop-punk blueprint that the Ramones and Buzzcocks pioneered, Pigfish are the original 1-2-3-4 heads down, guitars up loud, killer-song-smiths that so many guitar pretenders from both side of the Atlantic get so very wrong. This wasn’t lost on the guys at Iron Man who stepped in to rescue Pigfish and arranged to re-release this ‘lost’ classic with distribution from Universal.
