A Tour of Europe is planned for 2003...

stop press!stop press!

The New Album O.U.C.H. is here at last on limited edition vinyl with gatefold sleeve and also CD.

If anyone can offer P.A.I.N gigs please get in touch, an extensive tour is planned for the start of 2002.

A story from Dan about the song "Rocking cross de borda" from the forthcoming cd and lp O.U.C.H.

I remember travelling in a German Army truck on our way to a gig in Czech Republic and the manager, Jos, was dying in the back of the truck.  As a caring bunch of lads we should have got him straight to a hospital...but we didn't...this makes us a professional bunch of lads as the show must go on!  We crossed the border into the Czech Republic after the witching hour.  They checked us out and found nothing to stop us coming in...but still we had to pay to enter because we were musicians and they were border police.  Corruption and extortion exists at the border which is nothing to do with us!   We paid, we crossed and we entered into a place covered in snow and cold enough to make me want my mother!  I have got to say that the visual beauty of the snow and scenery was breathtaking to us all, but the reality was we were eight freezing cold bastards in a German Army Truck!

We got to the gig a 1000 Krona poorer, fucking freezing, with Jos still dying quitely in our care!  As we arrived we set up our merchandise stall. Some geezer wanted to buy one LP from us and as we are always open for business I of course obliged.  The geezer had no cash and after lengthy negotiations paid me with a big bag of weed.  Some may say that this is not good business but I say payment is payment!  All of us smoked the weed but only myself, the Foreign Secretary and Jo the video geezer knew the size of the bag of weed from which the weed came from, he had filmed the event!  We played the gig and whilst playing Jo, who was also not very well went to enquire about a train ticket home. It turned out that the ticket would leave the band broke and the journey was 1300 miles which probably would have killed Jo anyway!  After we played we had two dying friends on our hands, fucking sub zero temperatures and a big bag of weed.  There was only one solution....party mode!  We were warned not to drink Absynth, but we did!  One of us suffered temporary unconscieness, all of us were wankered and it is true that Absynth should not be consumed in vast quantities, even if it does keep out the fucking cold!  That night we stayed in a house in the middle of nowhere and to add to our comfort when we wanted a piss we had to go out in the field to do it!  By this time we didn't care as we were all wankered or dying!

We left the next day still wankered and/or dying and still in possession of the big bag of weed. I took the decision that the weed was coming with us over that border and far away!  As a protest against the corruption, the extortion and the fucking cold, cold weather the weed was staying.  I stated my intentions to some but not all.  By the time everyone knew it was too late to turn back.  There was an air of acceptance in the truck.  Some made funny noises as if in pain but my protest was appreciated, understood, supported 110% and without the lads it wouldn't have been the same!  We got to the border and the song says the rest.  I would have gone to jail for that big bag of weed as the unchecked legitimate corruption and extortion that exists at the border, that is the border police, deserved to be fucked over by an innocent musician such as myself!
