IMB6001  I.O.D. : Mundane Existence
"Mundane Existence" features 10 tracks of intense sociopolitical vocals welded over brutal guitar riffing and raw distorted bass; it mixes the elements of Death, Metal and Hardcore Punk (Discharge, Seige) The live energy that is I.O.D's audio trade mark has been captured on CD at the legendary Framework Recording Studios, Birmingham, by producer Paul Siddens who has worked with Napalm Death, Cathedral, DbH, Meathook Seed and Little Giant Drug. Expect to hear high energy 100mph blast beats, screaming vocals and songs that offer up slabs of raging metal-hardcore

IMB6002  P.A.I.N featuring Howard Marks : Let Me Grow More Weed
Howard Marks and the Propaganga and Information Network (P.A.I.N.) recorded a song called "Let me grow more weed." The record aims to introduce the legalisation of Cannabis into a more common arena for discussion and is targetting the unconverted, the people who would not normally take an interest in the cause. Howard and the band are throwing down the gauntlet to Tony Blair and his Government. They believe Cannabis should be legalised and will not stand aside ever. Howard Marks' book "Mr. Nice" is a best seller, his articles in magazines such as "Loaded" are becoming more regular and more notorious. He stands at the front line of the cause to legalise drugs and people are listening. P.A.I.N. on a more underground level, are also on the front-line of many different causes and social comment, one of them being the legalisation of Cannabis. "Let me grow more weed" has a message for all to read: Cannabis should be legalised. By releasing this record, Howard and P.A.I.N. believe that together they can influence this coming about and in doing so, save the sanctity of the next generation's freedom from persecution over trivia.

IMB6003  P.A.I.N : Our Universe Commences Here
The long awaited second album from P.A.I.N, sees the South London conspiracy offer the world a radioactive audio file crammed full of  Nuclear Dub, Genetically modified Ska, and BSE laced Punk rock. The album features the work of amongst others, John Dillinger, who is currently one of the most prolific writers operating in the UK underground scene.  The theme is about the prison system, its use against the defenceless and laws that cannot be defended. The band have found allies in both expected and unexpected places, such as the well documented liason with Howard Marks and the welcome support of Kate Bush.  Always outspoken, P.A.I.N see their music as a vehicle of political expression; “There is much more to 'Our Universe' than the prohibition of Cannabis, you only have to look at the poetic irony of simultaneous fuel protests and widespread environmental catastrophe. Everyone will talk of the necessity for radical change, yet still, nothing changes. Are we all just consumers for the profit of the IMF? Do our lives really amount to a column of figures? Just who has the power now? Surprisingly, it’s still all of us. The Protest Movement has become global in response, and we now have a genuine opportunity to fight back at the real enemy; no longer the copper, or politician,  but the evil bastards who claim with a straight face that they own 90% of the worlds resources. We are all born on this planet and every single human being alive has an equal right to life, air, water, and food. They tell us that this is being naive and unrealistic. IMB6004  LESS: "And I'll see you never work again" taunted Florence
Less are a vehicle for the considerable talents of underground wordsmith John Dillinger, better known as charismatic frontman with the late, lamented  AOS3 and South London Anarcho activists P.A.I.N. Playing sample fuelled tuneful hardcore, blending ska, jazz and thrashing squalls of punk energy,  Less’s uplifting songs provide what John describes as “a full on dynamic sound leaning towards the psychotic end of childish hardcore” In other words, Less are hurling their musical toys out of their prams with unnerving accuracy. John’s distinctive voice and unorthodox song-writing have given LESS an emotive and surrealistic edge making them firm favourites with the underground media. The inclusion in their ranks of former members of cult bands SPANNERMAN and HEADJAM only adds more fuel to their bonfire.  John adds “We certainly hope ‘and I’ll see you never work again’ will wind people up – choose LESS, use LESS and do LESS”

IMB6005  GORGEOUS: Cursed with Being.....
This is the first official release for the oddball Midlands based iconoclasts who were formed by notorious indie maverick Peter Byrchmore - a man whose varied career to date has been responsible for ten or so indie chart hits and a brace or so of proper grown up chart moments. Best known for being in eternal Peel faves The Nightingales. Peter’s guitar and vocalising is supported by Maria Harvey, (another ex ‘gale), who plays the keyboards and also sings beautifully, Abi Bruton and her shiny trombone, Rick Shaw ,(honest) Sax God,  John McQueen and his big bass guitars and Andy Nicklin who plays the drum kit. In gauntlets. The basic G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S  tenet is to do with stamping out wet music in a way that transcends any stylistic elitism. They see no point  aligning with any sub genre or half arsed movements because everyone is seen as a prospective G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S  fan. Tired of a relentless diet of gutless, opinion free musical posturing, G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S  make a gleefully opinionated , energetic, hook laden racket and are content to offer their intriguing views couched in dry, black wit rather than ram  received opinions down throats. G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S  have absolutely no intention of  preaching to the converted. So there. ‘Cursed with being…’ was recorded in a week at the Magic Garden Studios and was produced by Gavin Monaghan who has worked with all manner of characters, (like Mercury Rev, Gold Blade and Terris). “Bit of a closet genius to be honest” said Peter of his producer, and who are we to disagree?

DLPR2006  PIGFISH: The Reverend James   CD mini LP
Pigfish, Birmingham’s saviours of all things punk – pop, ‘The Reverend James’ picked up loads of great reviews in the music press and fanzines, including 4/5 in Kerrang  and 8/10 in Metal Hammer together with more airplay than it’s fair to expect for a new band. This combined with the relentless touring of their killer live set helped win Pigfish a permanent place in the psyche of anyone who ever loved perfect noisy, hook-laden attitude. Harking back to the glory days of the late seventies when Irish label Good Vibrations rubber stamped the perfect pop-punk blueprint that the Ramones and Buzzcocks pioneered, Pigfish are the original 1-2-3-4 heads down, guitars up loud, killer-song-smiths that so many guitar pretenders from both side of the Atlantic get so very wrong.

IMB6007 SIST: Talking Points Not Tragedies
Sist (now re-named The Fall, The Rise for future releases) burst into hot post-hardcoring-rocking action which, roughly translated, means: "We've got a set of diminished chords, objective lyrics and a few stop starts and we're not afraid to use them!" Unleashing off kilter axe-work, growling basslines and thrashing drums juxtaposed with swinging and swooning subsections, this Brummie quartet maintain more roughs and smooths than the bar population of the Queen Vic. There's the eruption of opener "Television Led" which hot-foots it faster than a pickpocket in a police station. Drums are treated to a bit of slap and tickle as the telling "Hindsight is a wonderful Thing" spins out in a fury of dizzy guitars and drunken vocal recollections , while "Chinese Whispers" sounds just a little too typical. A confident debut.

IMB6008 ACADEMY MORTICIANS: What Happened?
Songs that have more facets than a sharp-cut diamond without ever losing the ability to rock out, the razorblades are wrapped up in sweet candy: three-part harmonies, dive-bombing guitars and hailstorm drumming combining to vigorous effect. Was it worth the wait?  Well yes, if politically charged indie punk straight out of the Buzzcocks takes your fancy.

IMB6010 LAST UNDER THE SUN: Windfall
An interesting one this, as Last Under The Sun attempt to straddle a fence somewhere between emo and hardcore. Something which must be uncomfortable, but when it works, it makes for a very interesting ride. Unlike a lot of bands from those camps, they remember that writing a good song is the all important factor, and there's plenty of hummable melodies contained here, with "This Business" being the undoubted highlight. The easiest link to make is to a pop oriented Fugazi, which makes more sense than you'd think. They've a fair bit of pedigree having worked their way through former members of Stepback, Eastfield, Eggraid, The Hot Tortoise, Pigfish and Damn Dirty Apes, before settling on their current 3 piece lineup. There is a lot to recommend this release, and with fresh recordings in the bag and a growing reputation for their live work, they could be ones to watch, especially with a bass player named after a Hawkwind song!

4 tracks of political, anti-war hardcore punk rock in total English style: fast and chaotic and like a fist to the head. A fist with a serious message clenched inside it: 'Fuck The Government, 'Bring Me Their Heads', 'Not In My Name' and 'Open Fire'.this is agitated and wants to fight the ignorance and ineffectiveness of our government.stand up and fight with them.this will fuel you like crazy.

SENSA YUMA – Up Yours. Sixteen angry energized ranting old school violent slices of in-your-face thrashing thrailing fist-waving bomb-throwing hardcore punk rock. Lefter than left Conflict/Discharge anarcho confrontation. Sixteen slices of Banned From The Roxy style rants and raves. Seems the boys aren’t that happy with the police, the justice system, the government, what they’re up to over there, life, love, reality – ah yes, good wholesome stuff done just right – go grab some, play it loud, solve all your problems and live happy ever after – wreckomended (just don’t pull the sticker off the front before tea time).

IMB6014 INTENTION: new album "Afraid at the edges" on its way 2005
Established in 2000 and based in Birmingham, INTENTION’s early demos secured supports slots with GBH, UK Subs, Meathook Seed, Citizen Fish, Knuckledust, Assert and touring acts such as DOA, Agnostic Front and No Means No. There have also been very favourable reviews from fanzines galore, not to mention Terrorizer, Metal Hammer and Kerrang. Absorbing influences from Punk, Metal and Hardcore from both sides of the Atlantic, Intention have developed a sound and style of their own. Intention deliver music with melody, power and intensity. Forge this with ‘thought provoking lyrics which are intelligent and powerful, yet unafraid to show humour when required, and you’re onto a winner’. Recent line up changes have seen the addition of Tony Henderson of Pigfish fame on the drums and the fantastically chaotic yet entertaining Ian Mackenzie remains firmly at the controls. Afraid at the Edges was recorded and produced by Gavin Monoghan (Lost Prophets, Idlewild, Mercury Rev, Harpies) who has captured and finally done justice to the unquestionable potential Intention have always possessed.

IMB6015 DUFUS: Neuborns
Writers have compared Dufus' folk punk cacophonic prog ditties to Captain Beefheart, Frank Zapper, The Figs, Ween, Mr Bungle, Moldy Peaches, Mozart, The Band, The Strokes, JOhn Zorn, Dead kennedys, Need New Body, The B-52's, Gong and The Muppets. While these comparisons are too eclectic to give a real clue as to Dufus' sound, they are testament to Dufus' extraordinary musical vision. The missing album recorded in 2001 before 1:3:1 and unreleased until now is finally here New York Antifolk at its best..............Dufus: Neuborns speaks to an audience of believers who get pushed down, the people who are trying as hard as they can to make the world thrive in a way better. It was recorded in 2000-2001 at Emandee in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. It is released at last through Birmingham based Iron Man Records...you can never have enough confusion...Lyrical content derives from a modern day caveman junk collector’s perspective on deliniation from concensus reality. Dufus presents a deep and transcendent mixture of confrontational songwriting, whip-smart lyricism and massive beats interspersed with avant-punknoise and groundbreaking improvisation; they are helping to define the curve for an awakening generation of artful musicians. Their edgy but positive sound vibration has earned them an expanding and loyal following throughout the Northeast and parts of Europe.
