  ZIPPY SAID TO BUNGLE.

Zippy said to Bungle, "Let me whisper in your ear...

The times are still a-changing fast for all of us I fear...

Where once we all were famous and the children knew our faces...

Now just distant memories in this emptiest of places,

Receding ever faster, as the sands of time flow on,

Till we fade like Winter's rainbows in the sunlight and are gone.

George was sobbing sadly with his hand across his face,

He said "How could they leave us in this emptiest of space?

Where's Rod, and Jane,and Freddy?

Oh, can't we sing a song?

The wheels on the bus go round and round and round for oh, so long....

But then the journeys over, and there ain't no bus ride back...

Roll the final credits, freeze the frame, and fade to black.

But Bungle covered up his cloth ears, and he desperately cried

"Your just trying to upset me now, I know you've always lied...

You were always naughty, never did what you were told,

It was always you that Geoffrey had to discipline and scold...

If this was your fault in the first place, well, I wouldn't be surprised..."

But no-one saw the tears trickle deep inside his hide.

Far across the City, in an office of a tower ,

Sits Geoffrey reminiscing 'bout the darkest of his hours...

His three best friends were torn form him and packed into a box,

Nailed down fast, and then despatched, no keys for certain locks...

And Geoffrey too was re-deployed, retrained and sent away...

Up above the streets and houses now, to paint the whole world grey.
